Started this blog because I am having trouble remembering techniques we've gone through on any given session and I have been advised to write them down with my thoughts and any problems I have had...making for a more complete learning process....in theory!
Trained With Andy S tonight, a private session with Andy A (purple) Here's a list of what we went through.
Guard passing. First the 'Roger Gracie' pass, with 1 hand bring oppo's lapels together and roll them into a good grip, using the other hand control you oppo's arm, using their sleeve, on the same side lift your knee and place foot down, posture up and push straight up bringing controlled arm with you, let go of lapels, shake and twist you hips to break guard and push 1 knee through...passed
get low, elbows in oppos thighs, grab belt, simultaniously push oppo and move right back breaking guard so their knees end up over your shoulders, grab around upper legs and remove head (if poss) posture up and stack oppo whilst moving to the side and across their chest and shoulder, all the time controlling their hips and, once you've nearly passed, reach with hand on side you are passing and take opposite collar (thumb in) thus applying a choke as you move into side control.
Make like you are reaching with 1 hand to put it through between you and their leg, draw them into a triangle attempt, but sit right up (avoid them controlling your head) trap their leg on you shoulder...pass as above, with or without the choke.
we did other stuff but they were the things I was most interested in. You can do nowt till you passed!
